AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) Opponents of a proposed $1 billion transmission line aimed at bringing Canadian hydropower to the New England grid collected more than enough signatures to put the proposal to a statewide vote, officials said. Ground is Broken on New Fisher Hill Elementary School in Orange, Mass.

Several shovelfuls of dirt on Oct. 15 got construction of the new Fisher Hill Elementary School under way in Orange, Mass.
