Thousands of John Deere Workers Strike After Union Rejects Contract

Thousands of Moline, Ill.-based Deere & Co. workers went on strike in the early hours of Oct. 14 after their union, the United Auto Workers (UAW) rejected the agricultural and construction equipment maker's latest contract proposal. The contracts under negotiation covered 14 John Deere plants across the United States, including seven in Iowa, four in Illinois and one each in Kansas, Colorado and Georgia....
