TDOT Contractor Begins Work on U.S. 64 Bridge Over Ocoee River

Contractor crews began a project Sept. 8 to replace the bridge on U.S. Highway 64 over the Ocoee River in Tennessee's Polk County. The site is in the mountains of the Cherokee National Forest at the state's southeastern border, near the Georgia and North Carolina state lines. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) enterprise will be performed using the design-build method, an approach that combines all or some portions of the design and construction phases of a project into a single contract....
