North Dakota DOT Targets Highway Deaths

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has unveiled an ambitious five-year "Vision Zero Plan" that it views as a starting point for eliminating both fatalities and injuries due to motor vehicle crashes on the state's highways. "There were 116 motor vehicle crash fatalities in North Dakota in 2017, [and] an interim goal identified in North Dakota's Vision Zero Plan is to reduce annual motor vehicle crash fatalities to fewer than 75 by 2025," Ashlee Doan, a public information officer for North Dakota DOT's safety division, explained to the AASHTO Journal in an email....
