Colorado DOT Kicks Off $1.2B Central 70 Highway Project

On Aug. 3, Colorado officially broke ground on its Central 70 Project; the largest construction project in the state and the Colorado Department of Transportation's second public-private partnership. The $1.2 billion Central 70 Project will reconstruct 10 mi. of I-70 — which carries upwards of 200,000 vehicles per day — between Brighton Boulevard and Chambers Road; add one new Express Lane in each direction; remove a 54-year-old viaduct; and place a four-acre park over a portion of “lowered interstate” between Brighton and Colorado boulevards....
