Sound Transit Plans to Award Rail Contracts by Fall

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) The Seattle-area public transit agency is expecting to award major construction contracts by the fall to extend the light rail to northern suburban cities. The Daily Herald reports Sound Transit CEO Peter Rogoff told the agency's board last month that awarding the contracts by this fall should keep the Lynnwood Link project on schedule to open in mid-2024....

New York's MTA To Repair Train Tunnel Hit by Hurricane Sandy

In August, New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will begin rehabilitation work on the Rutgers Tube New York City Transit subway tunnel that allows the F Line to run under the East River between Brooklyn and Manhattan.
