South Carolina's Iconic Folly Pier Closed for Two-Year Replacement Project

Oct. 18 marked the start of an extended closure of the iconic Edwin S. Taylor Folly Beach Fishing Pier along the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina. The span closed that morning for a two-year replacement project, reported the Charleston Post and Courier. A Lowcountry landmark since 1995, the pier has since become heavily damaged by shipworms....

Ground is Broken on New Fisher Hill Elementary School in Orange, Mass.

Several shovelfuls of dirt on Oct. 15 got construction of the new Fisher Hill Elementary School under way in Orange, Mass.
