C3 Announces $100K Grant for Craft Training Programs

Chuck Gremillion, C3 executive director, announced that Texas Mutual Insurance Company, the state's leading provider of workers' compensation insurance, has awarded a $100,000 grant to C3 to help strengthen craft training programs throughout the Houston region. Gremillion said, "We are honored to partner with Texas Mutual and to have their support to provide new career opportunities for future construction craft workers in the Houston region." The grant funds will support several C3 efforts, including the C3 accredited employer scholarship program for new and existing C3 accredited employer training classes that cover OSHA safety, craft skills, jobsite leadership, crew leadership and more....

NY Public Library to See $317M Renovation

The main branch of the New York Public Library will undergo extensive renovations to the tune of $317 million after receiving approval from its board of trustees Nov. 15. Dutch architecture firm Mecanoo and New York firm Beyer Blinder Belle developed the plan, Curbed reported.
