[screen pans downwards to the right] …and are harvested when they fall on the ground.

[screen zooms in on Turkey] Turkey… is the #1 supplied of hazelnuts, producing over 500,000 tonnes annually.
[screen pans left following arrow to Canada ] Canada… imports close to 16,000 tonnes of hazelnuts each year, most of which come from Turkey.

[white text fades in below] When Ferrero came to Ontario in 2006, researchers at the station decided to see if it was possible to grow hazelnuts in Ontario.
